RACE SUPPORT & MEDICAL EMERGENCY

WATER & FOOD STATIONS

There will be “Support Stations” providing water and food to racers at the following transitions: Fun Run-to-Bike, Bike-to-Run, and Run-to-Paddle. Though we do our best to anticipate the needs of racers and stock these stations accordingly, we recommend that racers carry their own water and fuel when possible, or have their teammates and support people provide water and fuel as needed.

WATER STATIONS ON COURSE

There will be one Water Station in the Run-Run Transition at Mt. Bachelor. There are four Water Stations on the River Run Course. There will also be a Water Station in the Paddle-to-Sprint Transition Zone. Please help our volunteers keep the course clean by disposing your cups in designated trash cans.

HAM RADIO EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS

Supported by High Desert Amateur Radio Group

PPP is lucky to have the ongoing support of volunteer Ham radio operators on our Bike Course. There is about one operator for every mile of the course. If there is a medical emergency on the course, the Ham radio team is there to help call for medical services, either from Adventure Medics or 911 responders. Of course, if you are carrying your own cell phone and have service while on the course, making the call to 911 yourself is the fastest way to receive services, but they are a great back-up if you need help while on the bike course.

ADVENTURE MEDICS

MBSEF has contracted Adventure Medics to provide professional medical support on various sections of the course. There will be 3 EMTs and one Paramedic moving along the entire course, following the flow of racers.

NATIONAL SKI PATROL

National Ski Patrol volunteers are available to support first aid in all the transitions. There is also a pair of National Ski patrollers stationed near mile 15 of the Bike Course at the Meadow Camp access road on Century Drive.
